I’ve spent well over a decade learning, training and working in various tech-roles. At the heart of each role has been the focus of improving the experiences and lives of my customers and the impacted communities.
Many of you have amazing ideas for applications that will solve interesting and important problems but don’t know where to get started. That’s where I can step in and offer my team’s expertise. Our customers can stop stressing about knowing how to code or the best-practices for user-experience and user-interface design.
Furthermore, we help our customers build cool applications but, unlike other teams, our work is grounded in the desire to mitigate any negative implications for melanated and marginalized communities. That’s why I’ve been very purposeful about making sure my team is comprised of people from those communities. Our solutions are reviewed by an expert team familiar with the ways in which tech can cause harm, unwittingly or otherwise. They can also help improve our designs that improve the experience for all users.
Techano won’t simply be another development shop. 2020 has further highlighted the importance of not just building “cool tech” and generating big profits. Guided by the Design Justice Principles, we are committed to creating and advocating for a world where technology does more than generate profits and conveniences. Techano aspires to leverage technology to create a more equitable, just and joyous world.
